Together with his partners, Stefan Heidemann from the Department for the History, Languages, and Cultures of the Near East (University of Hamburg) organizes the Lecture Series on the History and Culture of Central Asia. There have already been several iterations of the lecture series as well as conferences dedicated to researching various aspects with a special focus on the written and material artefacts.
