Past Webinars

We can look back on many years of experience in giving webclasses. The origin of the joint initiative Webinars in Islamic Material Culture lies in Andreas Kaplony's "Arabic Papyrology Webclass".  He conducted his first webinar in 2007.

Stefan Heidemann joined in 2012 and brought Numismatics into play. In 2014, Bethany Walker came in with a webinar in Islamic Archaeology. Finally, Abigail Balbale joined the initiative in 2015 giving a class on the Material Culture of the Caliphate.

Since 2012, the Webinar Initiative in Islamic Material Culture is regularly offering webinars on various topics relevant fo rthe study of material culture in the Islamic world. Please find the information on the past webinars below.
