Ursula Bsees (PhD 2015, Arabic Studies) is a Lecturer for Arabic and Islamic Studies at LMU Munich and Director of the Arabic Papyrology
Research Group. Her main research interests include Arabic papyri and manuscripts in general, and specifically Arabic literary papyri, furthermore Popular Religion and Magic, and politics and society in modern-day Egypt. Her current research focuses on Early Islamic Intellectual History based on Arabic literary papyri. She teaches courses on Classical Arabic, Cairene dialect, Politics and Society in Modern Egypt, Popular Islam, and is regularly invited to speak on a variety of papyrological topics.
