Since the winter semester of 2020/2021, the İmam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, operating under the auspices of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has collaborated with the Department of Islamic Studies at the Asien-Afrika-Institut (Universität Hamburg) to organize a joint lecture series on the history and culture of Central Asia.
The objective of the Lecture Series is to facilitate an exchange of ideas and insights on the history and culture of Central Asia among scholars from diverse academic backgrounds and specialisations. A significant number of lectures concentrate on Islamic history, encompassing a range of material culture manifestations.
The series will be held for the eighth time during the winter term of 2024/25. As is customary, four lectures will be delivered, with one scheduled for each month.
- 1st lecture: Tuesday, November 26th 2024, 1-3 pm CET (German time), 4-6 pm Tashkent time, 7-9 am EST (American East Coast)
