Three New WebinarsThe Webinar Initiative in "ISLAMIC MATERIAL CULTURE" offers three webinars from May 2017

Due to continuing interest and request of students and professionals worldwide, the Webinar Initiative offers one webinar in the summer semester 2017 and two different webinars in the upcoming winter semester 2017/2018.
The first webinar "Papyrus Letters from Umayyad and Abbasid Egypt" will be taught by Andreas Kaplony, Professor at LMU. It is also part of the Arabic Papyrology Webclasses series hosted by LMU.
Another webinar will focus on "The Social Life of Islamic Textiles" which is included in the field of Islamic art and material culture. It will be lectured from August to December 2017 by Abigail Balbale, Assistant Professor (Bard Graduate Center, NYC).
Finally, the third webinar starts in October 2017 and continues until February 2018. It will give "An Introduction to Islamic Archaeology" and is taught by Bethany Walker, Research Professor at the University of Bonn.
