During the winter term 2020/2021, the Webinar Initiative in Islamic Material Culture will offer two new webinars.
Ursula Bsees (LMU München) will give a course on popular religous practices in Islam and their relation with Islamic orthodoxy. These practices will be approached through documents and objects stemming from different periods. For further information on this webinar, please see "Practices of Popular Islam".
The second winter webinar will be taught by Stefan Heidemann (Universität Hamburg). His course will focus on the the potentials of "Islamic Coins as Source for Political, Urban, Legal, and Economic History". For further details on this webinar and introductory readings, please follow this link.
